OF Mike Trout was back in the starting lineup Tuesday after being scratched from Monday’s lineup due to a jammed right pinkie finger. Trout picked up where he left off, going 2-for-5 with a three-run home run. He was named Rookie of the Month in the American League for June, his second consecutive month winning the award. He was in the minors for most of April.

RHP Jordan Walden allowed three consecutive hits and a run after he entered Tuesday’s game in the eighth inning. Walden has allowed a run in each of his past three outings. Over his past 12 appearances, he has allowed 16 hits and walked eight in 11 2/3 innings.

1B Albert Pujols was 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday’s loss to the Indians. Pujols is batting .314 (64-for-204) with 13 home runs and 44 RBI in 54 games since May 5. He batted .194 with no home runs and five RBI in the Angels’ first 27 games of the season.

OF Vernon Wells was cleared medically to increase his rehab activities. Wells played catch, throwing for the first time since surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb on May 22. Wells is ineligible to return from the 60-day DL until July 20.

RHP Ervin Santana has had a no-hitter (last July) and another outstanding start (two runs on eight hits in seven innings April 29) in his past two starts at Progressive Field. However, he is still just 1-7 with a 4.13 ERA (33 earned runs in 72 innings) in his career in Cleveland heading into his Wednesday start there.

RHP Dan Haren admitted that a lingering back issue has hampered him all season, and there’s a chance he could end up on the disabled list.
