Robert R. Kopriwa was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Chicago where he spent the early years of his life. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Academy of Art and spent his working years as a graphic designer, but his real love was in painting watercolors and creating ceramic sculpture for the garden. He married Carol Johnson in 1965 and they spent the next 41 years living in Northbrook, Lake Bluff, IL and Door County, WI. He especially liked being in the woods in Door County, cutting and splitting firewood, hiking and cross country skiing. He is survived by his wife Carol; and father-in-law Peter Johnson; he was uncle to Ruth (Ron) Zapfe, the late Bruce (Alice) Groat, Gary (Donna) Groat and Ted (Debbie) Groat; as well as all their children and grandchildren.
