Nació en Chicago hace diez años y este 2014 celebra su primer década, expandiéndose a Denver y Toronto.
En Chicago se realiza el fin de semana del 12 al 14 de septiembre en Humboldt Park, Division y Mozart y contará con siete escenarios y más de 120 actuaciones.
El programa de Chicago tiene, entre mi selección de imperdibles, el panel con Pussy Riot,el colectivo de punk feminista en el que se analizarán, según se explica en el programa del festival, “los movimientos sociopolíticos, la música, el arte , el pensamiento y la acción.
El panel será moderado por Henry Rollins y estarán dos de las integrantes de la Riot, Nadya Tolokonnikova (Pussy Riot), Masha Alekhina (Pussy Riot), Greg Graffin (vocalista de Bad Religion, Vocalist/profesor de geología UCLA), Tim McIlrath (Rise Against), Marcelle Karp (escritor/activista), Michael A. Petryshyn (fundador Riot Fest).
Tres actuaciones imperdibles: The Cure, Jane’s Addiction y Patti Smith.
