Evanston d. Maine East: Lara Helwig tallied eight kills, Liz Stanton four blocks and four kills and Kate Nash seven service points as Evanston (15-20, 4-5) cruised to a 15-8, 15-13 Central Suburban South victory.
Crystal Lake Central d. Lake Zurich: Kim Thurow, Megan Gallagher and Amy Rett combined on 34-for-34 serving as Crystal Lake Central (30-3, 12-1) swept 15-11, 15-11 in the Fox Valley.
Evanston 8, Waukegan 1: Kevin Lindsay scored two goals and David Adamji and Kevin Thompson combined to make four saves to lead No. 5 Evanston (16-1-2, 9-1-1) in the Central Suburban South.
Gordon Tech 4, Weber 3: Henry Casas scored twice to help Gordon (12-3-4, 4-3-2) to the Catholic League victory.
Lake Forest Academy 4, North Shore 0: Tim Jackson scored twice and Sunil Moser (five saves) and Charlie Cooper (three saves) combined on the shutout for Lake Forest Academy (10-3-3, 8-1-3) in the Independent School League.
Lake Park 2, IMSA 0: Sophomore Todd Olson stopped six shots for his first varsity shutout and Brian Lehky scored a goal in each half for Lake Park (13-4-3).
Glenbrook North 1, Highland Park 0: David Miller’s goal with 4 minutes left in the game spoiled Highland Park’s bid at winning the Central Suburban North title. A win would have given the Giants first place outright, and a tie meant a share of first place with Maine South. Paul Vignocchi earned the shutout for Glenbrook North (6-10-5, 4-5-2).
