Darius Lightfoot along with four other youths of the Fearless Leading by the Youth (FLY) presented “tricks and treats” to the Cook County Commissioners at todays County budget hearing.
Walking in with orange prison jumpsuit costumes served as a reminder of what was being discussed earlier today in a room on the 5th floor of the Cook County Building. The goal of the appearance was to convince commissioners to reinvest funds into community-based alternatives in light of the reduction of population in the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center.
