Laura A. Jibben, executive director of the Regional Transportation Authority-an agency with an annual operating and capital budget of $1.6 billion-was named Woman of the Year by the Women`s Transportation Seminar, an organization of transportation professionals. Jibben, who has been with the RTA since 1986, was named to her post last September.

Chicagoan Lucia Woods-Lindley, Sophia Fund founder, was one of six

”women of vision” honored by the Ms. Foundation in New York. Woods-Lindley is sole donor of the Fund, which since 1983 has contributed $1.6 million to educational, advocacy and policy programs for women. The Fund now will be distributed by the Ms. Foundation and the Chicago Foundation for Women. Awards dinner co-chairs were Olympia Dukakis and Marlo Thomas, actresses; Jessye Norman, opera singer, and Elizabeth Rohatyn, a New York philanthropist and social activist.
