– Nissan has made its long-awaited decision and will market its high-performance GT-R sports car in the U.S. in the spring of 2008. No word on the plant, much less the price, but only about 2,000 will be shipped from Japan. Carlos Ghosn, Nissan president and CEO, says the GT-R will be badged a Nissan rather than Infiniti because the Nissan name is better known globally.

– The Saturn Outlook crossover that comes out late this year or early next year is slightly smaller than a Chevrolet Tahoe and aimed at capturing folks moving out of full-size sport-utilities to save on gas. It will offer front- and all-wheel-drive, plus a new novelty, the second-row seat bottoms lift against the seat backs and the entire seat slides forward against the backs of the front seats to create an aisle to the third row.

– Pontiac has created a high-performance G6 GXP concept coupe to gauge consumer reaction to the car. The GXP has a 270-horsepower version of the 3.9-liter, V-6 that achieves 240 h.p. in the current coupe. A twin air-scoop hood, large “hammerhead” spoiler and 19-inch radials also set it apart from the current coupe.
