Don Bianchi, 61, of Sleepy Hollow, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at his home following a lengthy illness with cancer. Don was a male breast cancer survivor for over 20 years. He was born in New Jersey on June 12, 1939, the son of Charles and Jean Bianchi. Don was an avid philatelist. He was a member of the Spring Hill Stamp Club, the Chicago Collectors Club and the Garfield-Perry Stamp Club in Cleveland. He enjoyed gourmet cooking, traveling, fine scotches, good cigars and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Don is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Betsy; his loving children, Debbie (Ted) Krug of Highland Park, Stefanie (Jerry) Korabik of Chicago and Steve (Jodi) of Elgin. Don was also the devoted and loving Pop-Pop of Andrew, Joshua, Ryan and Dominic. A memorial gathering celebrating Don’s life will be on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St. (Rte. 72, 3 blocks east of Rte. 31) in West Dundee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made either to the Spring Hill Stamp Club, P.O.
