Chalk up a spectacular chart week for former New Edition singer Bobby Brown, who has not one but three singles in this week`s Hot 100.

First on the list has to be ”My Prerogative,” which had just enough staying power to move up to No. 1 after spending three straight weeks in the No. 2 spot. (Last week`s champ, Poison`s ”Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” dropped to No. 3.) That gives Brown his first No. 1 pop single and also another title for ”My Prerogative,” which was champ of the black charts three months ago. Then there`s Brown`s first solo single, ”Don`t Be Cruel,” which hit No. 1 on the black chart last summer but took until fall to peak at No. 4 among pop songs. This week, ”Cruel” is still hanging in on the pop chart at No. 100, after an incredible six months on the list.

And Brown already has his third hit, ”Roni,” which this week made a huge gain on the pop list-from No. 92 to No. 61-and is on track for No. 1 honors on the black chart, where it zipped from No. 8 to No. 3.

But next week, it will be all up to ”Roni” to keep Brown`s streak running, because the party is just about over for ”My Prerogative.” That`s because there are two strong challengers already positioned to take over: Phil Collins` ”Two Hearts,” which moved from No. 3 to No. 2 and already is No. 1 in radio airplay (it`s also in its fourth week as champ on the adult contemporary list); and Taylor Dayne`s ”Don`t Rush Me,” which jumped from No. 6 to No. 4.

It was a quiet week elsewhere in the Top 20, with only three songs making significant gains: Def Leppard`s ”Armageddon It” (up from No. 9 to No. 5);

Karyn White`s ”The Way You Love Me” (from No. 15 to No. 10); and White Lion`s ”When the Children Cry” (from No. 19 to No. 14).

Over on the LP list, the leader continues to be Anita Baker`s ”Giving You the Best That I Got,” which is now in its fourth week at No. 1. But next week is a tossup, with U2`s ”Rattle and Hum” back in contention at No. 2.

Here are predictions next week`s singles` chart: 1. ”Two Hearts,” 2.

”Don`t Rush Me,” 3. ”Armageddon It,” 4. ”My Prerogative,” 5. ”Smooth Criminal,” 6. ”The Way You Love Me,” 7. ”I Remember Holding You,” 8.

”Put a Little Love in Your Heart,” 9. ”Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” 10.

”In Your Room.”

This week`s pick hit is ”Paradise City,” a powerhouse release by Guns N` Roses that should boost interest in the group`s first album (”Appetite for Destruction”) even while their second (”G N` R Lies”) moves up the charts. This week, the ancient ”Appetite” (now in its 73d chart week) rebounded from No. 7 to No. 5 while ”Lies” moved from No. 13 to No. 12.
