Brasic lofted a 13-yard scoring strike to wide receiver Shantone Powers in a sudden downpour with 2:16 to play to give his team a 32-30 lead. The Bulldogs added a final TD with 28 seconds left as they tried to kill the clock. Matt Tierney scored on a 7-yard run on fourth down.

“When it rained I knew we were going to do it for sure because Tim’s a really great quarterback,” said Riverside-Brookfield coach Otto Zeman.

But the Cyclones took advantage of Bulldogs miscues in the second half to rally for a 30-26 lead with 8 minutes to play.

Until then, Riverside-Brookfield had never trailed. The Bulldogs dominated in the early going, quickly marching 65 yards on 10 plays on their opening drive–which included eight Brasic passes–for a 6-0 lead on a 19-yard scoring pass from Brasic to receiver Tierney.

Two subsequent first-quarter drives stalled, but the Bulldogs struck twice more in the second quarter.
