The week before Scott Strazzante made these photographs in Bridgeport he had been shooting one of his Neighborhood Watch features on Wrigleyville. He was able to spend the better part of an afternoon in Bridgeport before moving on to cover his first Chicago White Sox baseball game of the season. Strazzante later wrote, “Comparatively, Bridgeport is a small church carnival while Wrigleyville is Disney World.” “But this is the South Side and these are my people,” he added.
