Catherine “Bette” Cullerton, 73, of Woodstock, died on Monday, Sept. 4, at Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock. She was born March 11, 1927, in Chicago to Lawrence and Catherine Collins Monahan. She married James F. Cullerton on Nov. 27, 1947 in Chicago. She lived in Woodstock for 12 years, and had previously been a resident of Elmwood Park. She was employed by M&M Mares as a secretary and later at Stones on the Square in Woodstock. She was an active member of St. Mary Parish in Woodstock, serving as a Eucharist minister and home visitor to the sick. Survivors include four daughters, Colleen (Michael) Dunkel of Green Bay, WI, Catherine (Joseph) Munch of Huntley, Carolynne Cullerton of Woodstock and Candyce (Robert) Gearhart of Marengo; a son, John L. (Jeanne) Cullerton of Wadsworth; seven grandchildren, Carolyn Dunkel (Lee) Howard of Great Britain, Kimberly Vaughn of Green Lake, WI, Marie (Michael) Cimo of Schaumburg, Catherine King of Phoenix, Colleen Cullerton of Woodstock, Kit (Michael) Schinske of Milwaukee and Robert Gearhart Jr. of Marengo; two great-grandchildren, Cody and Gianna Cimo of Schaumburg; a sister, Marie Scully of Wood Dale; and two brothers, James (Arlene) Monahan and Larry (Pat Ann) Monahan, both of Downers Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband in February, 1997. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 528 W. South St., Woodstock. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon, Thursday, Sept. 7, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Woodstock, with Rev. James McLoughlin officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Youth With a Mission. Arrangements were made by Honquest Family Funerals, 235 Main St., Woodstock.
