Eastman Kodak Co. is the photographic sponsor for ”A Day in the Life of America,” the fifth in a series of international ”Day in the Life of”
photojournalism projects.
Two hundred of the world`s leading photojournalists will document American people at work and at play. Blanketing the country, the photographers will begin and complete their assignments in all 50 states on one day–Friday. If you`re not one of those lucky 200 photographers, you can enter a related photo contest.
To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Popular Photography magazine encourages photographers nationwide to match their best work with that of the 200 photojournalists taking part in the 50-state shoot. One winner from each state will receive a new Kodak VR 35 camera, model K12.
Some of the winning photographs will appear in the January, 1987, 50th anniversary issue of Popular Photography. The grand prize winner`s work will be included in the ”A Day in the Life of America” hardcover book to be published this fall. In addition, the grand prize winner will receive round-trip tickets to anywhere in the United States served by United Airlines, plus a Nikon camera and an Apple Macintosh computer.
To enter the free contest, submit a photograph taken between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. May 2, along with an official entry blank. All entries must be taken with Kodak film.
