Polling places for suburban elections will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Voters in the six-county metropolitan area will elect candidates running in municipalities, park districts, library districts and townships. Those voters will also decide referendum questions in 59 suburban school districts and in 65 municipalities.

Those with complaints or questions about voting procedures should call their respective state’s attorney’s office.

The Illinois Board of Elections will operate a hot line Tuesday, municipal Election Day, to answer questions from voters or to take complaints about the voting process.

The phone number in the Chicago area is 312-263-7367. For Downstate voters, the phone numbers at the board’s Springfield office are 217-782-1547, 1545, 1555, 1570 or 1586.

Election specialists will be available at the hot lines from 5:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.
