I am a 5th grader at John V. Leigh School.

During a lesson in class I discovered that electoral votes are, in a sense, more important than our individual votes.

Therefore I was disillusioned to find out that what really counts are the electoral votes and not our individual votes.

I do not understand why we have a right to vote if it does not count.

Isn’t that ignoring the voice of the people?

Everyone should be able to share his or her opinion and vote and know that it will count.

After all it is our future.
