Whether you’re still stoked about Mexico’s victorious battle over French foces back in 1862, or you’re just looking for a great way to toast Mexican culture, Cindo de Mayo is upon us. And with it, lots of parties to enjoy.

CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL

6-11 p.m. (procession only) Thu., 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Fri.-Sun.; free. Douglas Park, 1401 S. Sacramento Drive; 773-847-9889. This spring festival of Hispanic culture in Chicago boasts live music, food vendors, carnival rides and a parade.

CINCO DE MAYO NETWORKING AND COMEDY FIESTA

5:30 p.m. Thu.; $20-$25 (tickets: hispanicpro.com). Green Dolphin Street, 2200 N. Ashland Ave.; 773-395-0066. Mix with other revelers while enjoying apps, margaritas and live mariachi music (5:30-7:30 p.m.), plus a comedy show (7:30-9 p.m.).

LITTLE VILLAGE CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL

6-9 p.m. Fri., 1-9 p.m. Sat.-Sun.; free, small fee for carnival rides. Plaza Garibaldi, 2600 S. California Ave.; 773-868-3010. Fill up on traditional music and cuisine, arts and crafts, canival rides, and health and nutrition vendors at this three-day fest that’s packed with musical performances from such acts as Hilario Terrazas (Sat.) and Sementales de Nuevo Leon (Sun.).

SINGLES PRE-CINCO DE MAYO DINNER

6:15 p.m. Fri.; $45, includes tax and tip (registration required). Zocalo, 358 W. Ontario St.; 773-772-3535. If you’re single and looking, celebrating Cinco de Mayo is as good a reason as any to get out there and meet other lonely hearts over a tasty three-course meal. Cash bar.
