Francisco A. Menendez, 28, of 638 Nottingham Lane, Crystal Lake, was charged with retail theft Sunday for allegedly shoplifting two 12-packs of beer from White Hen Pantry, 19 E. Berkshire Drive, officers said. The beer was valued at about $17. Menendez could not post bond and was taken to the McHenry County Jail.
