As artistic director of Pegasus Players, I find that a crucially important part of my job is raising funds for both our creative endeavors and our acclaimed social outreach programs. Generating funding necessary to support the arts is particularly challenging in light of recent government cutbacks.
It is for this reason that I applaud your increased efforts to cover the major fundraising events in Chicago. In particular, your inclusion of fundraisers on the ”Overnight” page generates well-deserved attention for the arts, charities and public service communities that support themselves largely through these events.
I sincerely hope that you will continue to focus this much needed attention on Chicago`s fundraising events. Examining the ways in which communities raise funds is both newsworthy and necessary.
