Donations have been pouring in via a GoFundMe campaign created in support of Len Harris, the father of Nathan and Jason Harris, who were killed Friday.
The online campaign, started Wednesday with a goal of raising $10,000 in donations, had totaled more than $13,000 from more than 130 donors as of 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
The campaign on www.gofundme.com lists Friends of Harris Family as the organizer and states that all proceeds will go directly to Len Harris to defray the costs incurred as a result of the tragedy.
The DuPage County Coroner’s Office said Thursdaythat the bodies of the brothers had been released to Illinois Cremation Centers, which had no information about services. Social media posts have indicated a memorial service is planned for Sunday; however, no time or location was included. York High School also had no information Thursday about a service.
The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, investigating the deaths, said 43-year-old mother Jamie Jones, killed her two sons before setting the unincorporated DuPage County house on the 3N300 block of Willow Street on fire, then shooting herself.
Nathan Harris, 19, is a York High School graduate who was attending Bradley University in Peoria. Jason Harris, 16, was to be a junior at York this fall.
