It looks like the end of Gonzo`s (Gregory Harrison) career Sunday on

”Trapper John, M.D.” (9 p.m. on CBS-Ch. 2). He suffers a stroke, and Trapper (Pernell Roberts) performs emergency heart surgery to prevent Gonzo`s condition from getting worse.

Fans of the show shouldn`t expect Gonzo to return. Harrison is leaving the show–the stroke is the writers` way of having him exit the series.

This Sunday is the last ”Trapper” episode for the time being. CBS is putting the series on ”hiatus,” but promises it will return later this year.

The network`s Sunday night lineup changes on Jan. 12. ”Murder, She Wrote” (7 p.m.) will be followed by a movie, and ”Crazy Like a Fox” will move to Wednesday nights, starting Jan. 15.
