It’s finally happened. Deadly shootings have become a common occurrence in the United States.

Shootouts are happening everywhere and every day. Shopping malls, movie theaters, schools, hospitals and homes are fair game.

How did our nation allow this to happen? We need look no further than the National Rifle Association’s influence on our elected legislators. But of course, shame on them for kowtowing to the NRA. But shame on us, for giving these folks our votes and allowing them to turn the other cheek on Americans.

While the National Security Agency surveillance programs have gone overboard, our government doesn’t have the common sense nor the decency to pass a stricter gun legislation bill. And just remember, good guys will oftentimes turn into bad guys when they own a gun.
