Academy Woods in Lake Forest, adjacent to the grounds of Lake Forest Academy, has 18 properties for sale.

The five floor plans represent Colonial, English and French designs in combinations of brick, Dryvit and cedar.

Base-priced from $569,000 to $599,000, the ranch and two-story designs range from 2,100 to 2,860 square feet and include 2 to 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 to 3 baths. Features include volume ceilings in main living areas, fireplaces with gas log lighters, first-floor laundries, basements with 9-foot ceilings, two-car attached garages and security systems.

Kitchens include built-in ovens with microwave, dishwashers, disposals and gas cooktops.

– The sales center for River Bend, a high-rise condominium at 323 N. Canal St. on the Chicago River, has reopened after being moved to the northwest corner of Fulton and Canal Streets.

Plans for the Bejco Development Corp. community call for 161 condominiums and town homes base-priced from $300,000 to $2.5 million.

Bejco plans to break ground this month.

Each residence in the curving building will have views of the Loop and the river through floor-to-ceiling windows.

Two model “vignettes” are open for preview. They showcase the two styles of residences–loft and traditional–available at River Bend.

The “loft” units have wood floors, exposed heating ducts and 11-foot concrete ceilings and partition walls, and the “traditional” designs have recessed lighting, 10-foot drywalled ceilings, and custom milled base and crown moldings in living and dining areas.

The building will have six floors of parking, a 24-hour doorman in the two-story lobby, and valet parking.

Other amenities include a business center, spa and health club with steam room, sauna, massage room, showers and whirlpool. Also, a party room will adjoin a covered, open-air terrace overlooking the river walk.

– Rick Levin & Associates Inc. will auction two new-construction town homes located in south suburban Homewood at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Best Western Homewood Hotel, 17400 S. Halsted St.

Located at 18138 and 18149 Martin Ave., the brick town homes have 2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, family rooms, decks off the kitchens, fireplaces, basements, and attached two-car garages.

Previously priced up to $189,000, they have suggested opening bids of $65,000 with one of the homes being sold absolute, regardless of price.

– Kipling Homes has released 37 lots in its third phase at The Courtyards of Woodside, a 200-unit, 24-acre community of courtyard-style town homes in southwest suburban Joliet-Plainfield Township.

Phase 3 prices range from $111,400 to $128,400 and delivery dates are set for the early spring and summer of 2000.

Three homes are available for immediate delivery and some are available with incentives of up to $3,000.

The two-story Cottonwood, with more than 1,400 square feet, is available for early delivery. It has 3 or 4 bedrooms, up to 2 1/2 baths, formal living and dining rooms, master suite with private bath, second-floor laundry room, and attached two-car garage. The Cottonwood is base-priced from $125,900.

Five floor plans are offered with 2 to 4 bedrooms, 1 1/2 to 3 baths and rear-loading 2-car garages, and homes are constructed in 4-, 5- and 6-unit buildings. Each plan has a balcony either in the front, side or rear.

Monthly association fees are about $50. The Plainfield Park District handles maintenance for the community’s wildlife refuge, tot lot, gazebo and open space.

– Sales are under way for Burnside Homes’ Club Home condominiums at River Mill Crossing in north suburban Wheeling, set to include 80 homes in eight three-story buildings.

The third and final product line introduced at the community, the Club Homes are available in four floor plans ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 square feet. They are base-priced from $151,900 to $178,900 and include 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 to 2 baths and garage. Monthly assessments range from $92.70 to $141.03 and cover exterior maintenance.

River Mill Crossing is located on Milwaukee Road, just north of Hintz Road.
