Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema will be left out of the France squad to be announced tomorrow by manager Didier Deschamps for the two upcoming matches, as reported by L’Equipe.

His name will not appear on the list of call-ups by Didier Deschamps, like it has been happening since it was revealed in the fall of 2015 that Benzema appeared in an investigation for extorsion intent on his national team teammate Mathieu Valbuena, despite having the judicial control associated with his accustation lifted in July.

The newspaper explained that for the national manager, the return of the Madrid player would not be a mark of trust of a group that “globally, has provded satisfaction,” in the last year and a half.

Deschamps considers that the current make up of the Bleus is “better assembled” to encounter the Netherlands on the 31st in Saint Denis, and Luxembourg in Toulouse on September 3rd.

Benzema was indicted in November of 2015 for his alledged involvement in a extorsion operation against Valbuena for a video with sexual content. However, on July 11, the Supreme Court ruled in his favor in an appeal presented by the Real Madrid player’s attorneys.

The first consequence of the ruling, which has directed the issue to the Paris Tribunal, was the lifting of the judicial control placed upon Benzema.
