As I read “Lance Armstrong’s disgrace” (Editorial, Aug. 27), I couldn’t disagree more with the final sentence saying, “Cheat to Win.” Lance Armstrong has done a lot for cancer patients. I know because I’m a stage IV cancer patient (neuroendocrine, stage IV, inoperable). I also have a blood cancer that is not curable.

I’ve learned a lot on the Livestrong site and volunteered as an advocate.

The yellow Livestrong bracelet I wear (along with many other cancer patients), reminds us we can make it, just as Lance Armstrong did!

I was referred to hospice care by the palliative care team at Loyola University Health System. I refused, and will continue to fight!

My granddaughter, Jasmine, gave me a brand new Livestrong bracelet to wear, as my daughter and Jasmine want me to fight these cancers.

I plan on it!

I’ve refused hospice care! I will continue wearing my yellow Livestrong bracelet that means “Hope” to me and all the many others who have been encouraged by Lance Armstrong’s site.

“Cheat to Win?” Are you kidding me? The writer is obviously not a cancer patient who’s been helped on the Livestrong site!

To me, and other cancer patients who proudly wear the yellow Livestrong bracelet, it means we can have hope, and make it, just like Lance has all these years.

Live strong, Lance Armstrong! I (along with many others) support you!
