These guys may have had their 15 minutes of crossover fame when the video of their big hit, “Matador,” was censored because it featured a few seconds of a snarling Augosto Pinochet, the unrepentant former dictator and current shadow president of Chile. Although Fabulosos Cadillacs have a long trajectory and have been positioning themselves as an innovative rock act for years, here they sound like a cross between early Santana, Esquivel and bad TV theme songs. The presence on one tune of Ruben Blades, whose musical acumen has been on a slide for years, only makes matters worse.
