Earlier this week, I watched the enthralling Backstreet Boys documentary “Show’Em What You’re Made Of” on Netflix, and it ignited a personal rabbit hole fascination with ’90s boy bands–as well as a new appreciation for member A.J. McLean, who I spent most of my life thinking was the worst. Anyway, the writers at “Jimmy Kimmel Live” also must be super-nostalgic for the days when bands wore dated jumpsuits and had one white dude with dreads because they just made a ridiculous sketch about Mumford and Sons’ secret past as boy group “Mumtown.”

Frankly, it’s pretty funny. The sketch is a sort of alternate universe in which before the banjos, the English band sang sugary songs like “Girl, I’m Saying, Girl, Girl” and “Package 4 U” and even had Jimmy Kimmel in its roster, who they called “Mum” because he wasn’t allowed to sing. I’m not going to give away much more of the video because it’s much better if you see the jokes for yourself. Watch it below.
