No. 13 North Carolina 102, UAB 84: Junior Leslie McDonald scored a career-high 24 points and Reggie Bullock added 17 as the Tar Heels pulled away from the visiting Blazers in the second half.

P.J. Hairstonâ??s three-point play capped a 12-2 run and put North Carolina (6-2) ahead by 16 with 8:27 remaining. The Tar Heels bounced back from a 24-point loss to top-ranked Indiana by outscoring the Blazers 67-55 while shooting a season-high 71.9 percent in the second half.

UAB (4-4) was paced by Jordan Swingâ??s 21 points, including 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. The Blazers trailed by only six after closing the first half on an 8-0 run, but they fell behind 57-46 on McDonaldâ??s 3-pointer with 14:39 to play.

Hairston scored all 16 of his points in the second half after missing one game with a sprained left knee. James Michael McAdoo scored 15 and Dexter Strickland chipped in 11 points and a career-high nine assists as North Carolina shot 52.9 percent, including 43.5 percent (10-of-23) from 3-point range.

Terence Jones had 17 points and Robert Williams added 14 for UAB, which was outrebounded 40-26. Rod Rucker added 13 points and six assists.
