Oswego 1, West Aurora 0: Junior Josh Horeni scored five minutes into the second half for the only goal of the game. The goal was the third of the season for Horeni and was assisted by Edgar Navarro as No. 10 Oswego improved to 8-0.
Brian Grider made 12 saves to earn his seventh shutout of the season. West Aurora goalie Ivan Heredia made 10 saves as both goalies came through in big situations.
“It was a real good game both ways, both teams had some excellent opportunities, the goalies made some great plays,” said Oswego coach Randy Finch. “This is one of the better teams West Aurora has had and I was expecting them to play real well.”
West Aurora’s record fell to 4-2.
Elgin Academy 7, Morgan Park 1: Alex Roberti and Praddep Raju each had a hat trick and Roberti added two assists as Elgin Academy (2-2-1, 1-0) rolled in the Independent School League.
