“War at Home” is a project worth a moment of your time this Veteran’s Day. It’s a movie about the toll military service exacts, and producers are looking to raise money for the film (which is a narrative feature, rather than a documentary) on crowdfunding site Kickstarter.

“The story follows a veteran coming home with post-traumatic stress and struggling to live a normal life,” filmmaker Michael Dunker says in his fundraising video.

Dunker, who is from Sycamore, Ill., is an Air Force veteran now based in Los Angeles.

“Because this topic isn’t ‘bankable,’ we were forced into using crowdfunding to finance our film,” he wrote in an email, “and promised to give 50 percent of our profits back to Veterans Service Organizations.” His producer is David Lawson, also a veteran.

“This is veterans helping veterans,” Dunker said.

The pair is looking to raise $340,000 by Nov. 28 (they’ve raised more than $11,000 so far).

More information can be found on “War at Home’s” Kickstarter page.
