On December 30th 2012 Radio Arte for the last time broadcasted live from 90.5fm in the heart of Pilsen. After fifteen years of calling their radio station home that is on the corner of Blue Island and 18th Street Radio Arte will now be moving into the Little Village neighborhood where they will continue to air their regular shows online.

We went to Radio Arte on their last day to document the final broadcast. We had a chance to speak with the GM Jorge Valdivia who is optimistic for Radio Arte’s future saying he believes that, “when one door closes another door opens.”

Many other shows were brought back that day for one last hurrah. The playful show of Radio Infantil was brought back with their original hosts Dione Rangel and David Miranda. The LaFemme radio show that focuses on many topics for women, aired one last time with hosts Chris Davila, Jennifer Juárez, and Irene Tostado. Wendy Mata and Frank Conde Orozco came together one last time to remember the top 20 songs that were out during the time they broadcasted over the 90.5fm frequency.
