I was disappointed to read (in a June 1 article in the front section)
that the ”Take Back the Night” march at Northwestern University met with such unfortunate behavior by two fraternities. Sigma Nu Vice President Philip Fornaro should realize that blaring ”Sex on the Beach” and tapes of people having sexual intercourse during a march protesting violence against women is outrageous.
The fact that the ”Take Back the Night” march held at Carleton went well and without such incidents says something about the Northfield community and its respect for women. Women deserve the right not only to walk at night, but also to walk unharassed on their own university`s campus.
