Social Security will be giving its recipients a 1.3 percent raise starting next January. This is indeed a very minimum increase, especially in view of the extremely high utility costs (a basic need).

In any case, this raise won`t be of much help to the seniors inasmuch as Part B of Medicare will be increased by 15.5 percent.

I believe that if the federal government cut down on the many areas of waste in its programs, it could do better for its senior citizens.
