In another sign of his ascent into moguldom, Seth MacFarlane‘s Fuzzy Door production banner has closed a deal to buy a three-story Beverly Hills office building for about $11 million.

Sources say the deal was completed within the last month. MacFarlane had been looking for a space to buy for the past year in an effort to put most of his film and TV production activity in a central location. At present MacFarlane is working in a building on South Santa Monica Boulevard near the Peninsula Hotel, doing post production on his upcoming pic “A Million Ways to Die in the West,” which he wrote, directed and stars in along with Charlize Theron and Liam Neeson.

MacFarlane is the sole owner of the property, estimated at about 20,000 square feet, sources say. A rep for the busy multihyphenate, who added yet another dimension to his resume by hosting this year’s Oscarcast, declined comment on the deal.

MacFarlane is still in the early stages of figuring out which of his TV shows will move into the space. Before that happens, however, he plans to do a thorough overall of the interior, which will take some time to secure necessary city approvals. There’s a chance he may also lease some of the space to outside renters. The building’s tenants at present include companies also doing post-production work.

The move to purchase the building was spurred by MacFarlane’s need for greater efficiency in the time he spends traveling to production offices for his four series on Fox. Toons “Family Guy” and “American Dad” have production offices in the Miracle Mile area of Wilshire Boulevard. His live-action comedy”Dads” is based out of the 20th Century Fox lot in West L.A., and the Fox/National Geographic TV midseason unscripted series “Cosmos” has offices in Hollywood.

For the big screen, the Universal-Media Rights Capital comedy “Million Ways” is skedded for release on May 30, 2014. His follow-up to last year’s hit comedy “Ted” is tentatively tabbed for an April 2015 release.

Beyond TV and film, MacFarlane continues to pursue his musical career. He released an album of pop and jazz standards, ‘Music is Better than Words,” in 2011. At present he’s working on a Christmas album targeted for release by the 2014 holiday season.
