Spike Lee

has added “Boardwalk Empire” regular

Michael K. Williams

and Stephen Tyrone Williams to the cast of his

Kickstarter

-funded movie opposite Zaraah Abrahams.

Lee announced the castings Tuesday, the day before the fundraising effort concludes. The project topped its $1.25 million goal on Aug. 16 and has received $1,357,444 from 6,158 pledges as of 4 p.m. PDT for a new film that’s known for now as “The Newest Hottest Spike Lee Joint.”

Lee has only described the film as being focused on human beings who are addicted to blood. “Funny, sexy, and bloody (and it’s not ‘Blacula’),” he said at the time of the campaign launch.

Stephen Tyrone Williams has been tapped as the male lead. He also starred in relationship drama “Molly” opposite Katie Holmes.

Lee has defended using Kickstarter to raise the funds, asserting it will give him more control and noting that he self-financed “Red Hook summer” and that his “Malcolm X” fee went back into the budget.

“I’m an Indie Filmmaker and I will always be an Indie Filmmaker,” he said recently. “Indie Filmmakers are always in search of financing because their work, their vision sometimes does not coincide with Studio Pictures.”
