Pro Bowl tight end sprained his left knee on the final play of the first half when he jumped for a long pass in the back of the end zone. He will undergo an MRI Monday. Coach Dick Vermeil said the injury could be more serious than a sprain. “I don’t think it’s really good,” he said.

Alex Van Pelt, Bills

QB left the Bills’ 34-7 loss to Miami late in the first quarter with a sprained right shoulder. Van Pelt said he won’t throw for six to eight weeks.

Jason Taylor, Dolphins

Defensive end sustained a sprained left shoulder.

Chris Chambers, Dolphins

Rookie receiver sprained his right ankle. Pro Bowl middle linebacker Zach Thomas (torn right shoulder muscle) sat out the game. Miami has a playoff game Sunday.

Isaac Bruce, Rams

The Pro Bowl receiver bruised his lower back, but X-rays were negative.

Running back was taken out of a 28-7 win over Cleveland with what was called a sore groin, but he said the move was precautionary and he wasn’t hurt.

Tedy Bruschi, Patriots

Linebacker left a 38-6 win over Carolina with a head injury. Patriots spokesman Stacey James said the team was unsure what happened to Bruschi. James said a trainer asked Bruschi what was wrong, and Bruschi said his head hurt and he could not continue to play.
