Federal contracts totaling $16.8 million were announced Sunday in Washington for one university and 11 corporations in Illinois.

The University of Illinois at Chicago won a $508,415 contract from the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda for research and development services.

Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems of Rolling Meadows won a $146,439 contract from the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio for research and development services.

Marvco Tool and Manufacturing Inc. of Elk Grove Village won a $50,000 contract from the General Services Administration in Ft. Worth to supply woodworking and metalworking machinery.

Compaction America Inc. of Downstate Kewanee won an $11.4 million contract from the Army in Warren, Mich., for construction services.

Dukane Corp. of St. Charles won a $87,685 contract from the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, for communication, detection and radiation equipment.

National Electronics Division of LaFox won a $99,976 contract from the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Precision Switching Inc. of Spring Grove won a $36,068 contract from the Defense Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio, to supply electrical components.

Andrew Corp. of Orland Park won a $251,410 contract from the Defense Industrial Supply Center in Philadelphia for electric wire, and power equipment.

MPC Products Corp. of Skokie won a $79,750 contract from the Defense General Supply Center in Richmond, Va., to supply instruments and laboratory equipment.

Borg-Warner Automotive Inc. of Bellwood won a $123,039 contract from the Kelly Air Force Base in Texas to supply mechanical power transmission equipment.

Caterpillar Inc. of Mossville won a $3.9 million contract from the Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command in Warren, Mich., for tractors.
