Veterans Day is a federal holiday set aside to honor the men and women who have performed military service on behalf of the U.S. It is officially observed on Nov. 11, but many state and federal offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 10. The following public services are affected:
– Schools: Most public and parochial schools will be open on Friday.
– Government offices: Most state, county and city offices will be closed Friday, except for emergency services.
– Postal service: There will be regular mail delivery Friday but not Saturday. – Courts: Circuit Courts and U.S. District Courts will be closed Friday, except for Holiday Bond Courts.
– Banks, S&Ls: Will be open Friday, but most will be closed Saturday.
– Financial markets: Open.
– Parking: Normal weekday and weekend regulations and fees will be in effect Friday and Saturday.
– Transit: Normal weekday and weekend service schedules will be followed both days.
