Waukegan 11, North Chicago 1-Karen Kelly tossed a five-inning no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and Kelly Stanzil blasted a three-run homer for Waukegan

Loyola 12, Gordon Tech 0-Brandon Leese (3-1) pitched a four-hitter and struck out seven and Peter Patton added a three-run homer as Loyola (6-6)

captured its Catholic League North opener.

Lake Forest 10, North Chicago 0-Marty Kopach struck out nine in a five-inning contest and Greg Cran and Todd Ritter had three RBIs apiece for Lake Forest (5-6-1, 2-0) in the North Suburban.

Ridgewood 6, Westmont 2-Guy Nardulli and Bob Amelio each drove in two runs for Ridgewood (13-1) in its Southwest Suburban opener.

Lyons 4, Hinsdale South 1-Terry Olson induced 21 groundouts in his two-hitter and Jay Nichols and Chris Grosrenaud each had two-out, two-run hits for Lyons (10-0, 5-0) in the West Suburban.

Notre Dame 4, Woodstock 1-Sean Daly drove in two runs with two hits for Notre Dame (5-0).

Libertyville 8, Antioch 0-Matt Beitzel`s four hits led the 14-hit attack for Libertyville (10-5, 2-0 in North Suburban), which got a complete-game effort from Zac Adams.

Glenbrook South 1, Evanston 0-Dean Henderson (2-1) pitched a one-hitter and Mark Eskuchen scored the lone run on a wild pitch in the top of the third as Glenbrook South (2-4) won its CSL South opener.

Carmel 10-16, St. Patrick 2-3-Dan Devito struck out nine in Game 1 and Chris Kent finished with nine RBIs, batting 6 for 7 in the two games, as Carmel (6-6, 2-0) swept in the East Suburban Catholic.

Highland Park 4, Niles North 3-Sean Johnston`s RBI-double won it for Highland Park (6-2-1) in the bottom of the seventh.

Wheeling 7, Barrington 5-Brian Jamieson`s suicide squeeze brought in a decisive run for Wheeling (1-4, 1-1) in Mid-Suburban North play.

Prospect 5, Hersey 0-Sarah Brennan notched three goals in the Mid-Suburban League matchup as No. 9 Prospect (8-1-1, 3-0-1) won its seventh shutout of the season.

Buffalo Grove 7, Wheeling 0-Goalkeeper Laura Sandt recorded her fourth shutout and Megan McBride finished with three goals and one assist in the MSL North for Buffalo Grove (5-0, 3-0).

Maine South 8, Highland Park 0-Angie Meyer knocked in three goals and Denise Oswald added two goals and an assist as No. 7 Maine South (5-1-1, 3-0) took the Central Suburban League South contest.

Conant 3, Mundelein 0-Jessica Rutland scored all three goals while goalkeeper Megan Hillebrand recorded her first career shutout with 12 saves for Conant (1-2-2).
